Mom Whiting's B-day Surprise!

Mom Whiting had a monumental birthday July 23...
her 60th!!!
We decided to give her a big surprise and were all waiting at Trio for her! She thought Brent was just taking her to dinner, but little did she know Amberlynn and her girls, Teag, Dallas and I, the Toone family, Chad & Meg and Hailey were all there waiting. Judd and Stacey weren't able to be there, but the rest of us were SO excited for her to walk around the corner.....
SuRpRiSe!!!
We each wrote her a letter and put together a little scrapbook so she would always remember this special birthday!

Coaches Retreat

Last week we went up Cedar Canyon to the SUU cabin for the annual Coaches Retreat!
It was so much fun to hang out with all the other families and get to know everyone better, especially because we will spending a good amount of time together come football season :)
-
We played ladderball, a little baseball, volleyball, horseshoes, guitar hero, did a little swimming, ate some great food and just had fun relaxing.

the cabin was so awesome! it would be the BEST place for a family reunion!
Dallas was obsessed with all the game animals mounted all over the walls...
he just kept referring to everything as a buffalo though :)
the coaches getting the fire going for our yummy dinner...
Coach Lamb did all the food - impressive!

of course Dallas and Justice had to get a closer look,
and I got nervous that my little boy is already fascinated by fire

The Peterson's have a pug named 'Chubs' that they brought up to the cabin.
Poor Dallie was chasing Chubs around saying 'my Ruby'
sad :(
Dallas got a little aggressive trying to give loves to cute little Summer Lamb...
here he is offering his apologies
the big boys just playing around
ladderball was a big hit

Coach Peterson giving a lesson in cleaning trout...

...and Dallas eating a TON of it!

Dallas and Teague Anderson riding bikes
there is a stream across the road, so the dads decided to dam it up and make a little pool for the kiddos - it was a big hit and pretty impressive!
Coach Anderson and Coach Ena got pretty serious about it

Dallas just wanted to run around and play in the shallow part

Dallas and Olivia Ena playing with their beach toys

the volleyball game got a little heated apparently...
I guess that's what you get when you put a bunch of competitive men
(and some women) together
Big Teag and little Teague Anderson became good buddies and had fun playing badminton
-
We had such a fun few days! I feel so lucky that Teag is able to work with such great guys and that all the wives and families are so fun and have been so good to us!
We can't wait for football season and all the fun and craziness it will bring. I have received plenty of warnings from the other wives that I don't know what I'm in for,
but I am still excited and it is just around the corner!!!

4th of July

We had a fun 4th in Cedar City!
The day before we went to the Freedom Festival where Dallas had the time of his life with all the bounce houses and games
-
On the morning of the 4th we went to Main Street for the big parade

Dallas loved the fire trucks

I couldn't help but get a bit teary when they drove the Veterans through
and of course Dallas loved that they had an airplane in the parade
-
After the parade we went to Capitol Reef National Park

we saw some deer just roaming around,

then saw the cutest mom with her two TINY bambi's!
Dallas loved it and kept talking about the mommy, babies and wanted to know all about the daddy deer as well :)
-
It was a fun and busy day and we were trying to hold out for fireworks, but there was no chance Dallas was going to make it!

Jer's Baseball

We were very excited that my nephew Jer had a baseball tournament while we were in SLC!

This pic was on the front of the Deseret News and the cover of the sports page - go Jer!

We are so proud of Jer! He is quite the ball player, but an even better nephew, cousin and kid :)
I can't believe he is 15 and will be a sophomore in high school!

Dallas was pretty excited about his hot dog too...and his ring pop!

on our drive back to Cedar he was talking about 'Jer baseball' the whole way!!!
