CHOP-CHOP!

This little boy may not have been so happy about getting his hair cut...

but, his locks were getting a bit long...

and some were even mistaking him for a girl...

so with the promise of a sucker and ice cream afterwards...
Dallas got a haircut!!!

Mommy may have been close to tears watching ALL THAT HAIR fall to the ground!

but, I think mister is liking his new do :)

7 years...

...ago today, Teag and I said "I do"
-
Who knew that the quiet and well-behaved, little blond girl and the tall, skinny, rowdy and rambunctious boy who sat next to each other in Mrs. Remington's 2nd grade class would end up tying the knot?
Who knew that the girl doing the silly mat-cheers and half-times and the wrestler and football player would end up together?
Who knew that boy and girl from BHS who both ended up at BYU and started their own Thursday night bowling league would get married?
Who knew that the little 'nerds' Valentine from 2nd grade that read 'to: ashley, from: teag' would ever mean so much?
Who knew that being the only two students on the top row of the elementary class picture would prove to be fate?
-
We have been through plenty of jobs, a few lay-offs, 6 apartments, 2 houses, half a dozen cars, lots of vacations, too many injuries and surgeries, 2 cute puppies/dogs, dozens of holidays, 4 NFL teams, a handful of good road-trips, thousands of movies, many fun concerts, hundreds of restaurants, 1 {short}pregnancy, 47 hours of labor, 1 adorable little Dallas, many weddings of loved ones, a few sad funerals of missed ones, endless hours of laughter and fun, 1 or 2 disagreements, elementary-middle-high school-college-grad school, many great friends, infinite hugs, countless sporting events, a million episodes of Diego, many wonderful meals by Teag and many burned meals by Ashley, thousands of diapers, 2 "goobies", 999 be-be's, dozens of stuffed animals or 'buddies', 1 coaching job (so far!), plenty of ups and downs, fun times and tough times, laughter and tears, tons of amazing memories and milestones!
Things haven't always been easy and our marriage is far from perfect, but we have stuck together and made it to today with love and appreciation for each other :)
-
Thank you for it all babe. There is no one I would have rather shared it with!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

Stacey and Hailey

A couple weekends back Stacey and Hailey came down to hang out for a few days! Dallas gets so excited for visitors and new playmates, if only for a few days.
We hung out, watched football, went out to eat, wandered Walmart, went bowling, Stacey made us an awesome dinner, Hailey joined Teag and the football team for morning workouts and Hailey and Dallas had the time of their life playing in the gymnastics room (which I am DYING to do myself...).
Thanks for visiting girls! Come back soon!

Rock on in 2010

We rang in the New Year by seeing Alvin and the Chipmunks 2. It was painful for Teag and I, but Dallas loved it! Afterwards we went to Chili's but quickly decided to get our food to go when Dallas colored all over the table with blue crayon then took both he and Teag's hat and chucked them across the restaurant.
Our little man gets funnier by the day. We love hearing and seeing what he will come up with next!
-He LOVES going to movies - he sits in between Teag and I, gets his own popcorn and treats and is in pure heaven the whole time!
- he tells everyone he see's to "rock on" and is perfecting the hand signals to go along
- he loves music and dancing; the CARS soundtrack is always a favorite,
but he also recently discovered a love of The Charlie Daniels Band 'the devil went down to Georgia', Aerosmith's 'dream on' and Carrie Underwoods 'Cowboy Casanova'
- he went to his cousin Ben's birthday party last weekend and has since been singing 'happy birthday to you Bennie' all week long!
- he loves going to the football team workouts with Teag in the morning, as well as their workouts in the weight room. Teag said he tries to do the same thing along with them.
- the other day he was talking about jobs and how daddy is a coach. we asked him what job he wanted to have and he matter-of-factly told us "nice boy"! Sounds good to me :)
- he loves being a 'mer-man' in the tub
- when he goes to bed he lays right down and tells us "good night guys. love you. I'll see you in the morning!"
- his favorite and most frequent phrase is still "oh man!" but "n, n, n, n, no" and "MY do it" are gaining popularity :)

trying to look like big Issac with his hat

such a wild man!

when he watches a show he asks "mommy, snuggle me" or "daddy, snuggle me"

he is a boy after his mom's heart...he loves PB Cap'n Crunch!

being a silly man after his bath

Teag and I were cracking up because he looks like a little old man in his robe after his bath

after a LOOOONG day of playing he went into his room and just crashed on the floor in the middle of all his toys!

Christmas in Cedar

Here is Dal with his prized Christmas tree!
He was with my mom when she went to pick hers out and he kept telling her over and over that he wanted a little tree of his own. He tried getting the blue tree, but she talked him into a (cuter) little green one.
When we were little we had our own little trees in our rooms and we LOVED them!
He was SO excited to get it home, decorate it and get it into his room. Several different times we would go in and he would be sitting in the dark staring at the "pretty lights". So cute!

Buddy has loved his magic Christmas pillow case from Grandma and Grandpa Reynolds.

And also loved tucking in his buddies on their little pillowcase too :)

Grandma Whiting gave Dal this little advent calendar that we hung on his window. Every day he would get SO excited to open up another little door to see what was behind it!
One Saturday in early December Teag was skiing and Dallas and I decided to surprise him with our Christmas tree when he got home. Dal LOVED helping me pick it out and was such a good helper getting it out of the car and to the door. We left getting it inside and on the stand for daddy to do when he got home.

So proud and excited about the tree.
And so excited to push it over a few times...we had to have more than one chat about this ;)

We went to a little festival of trees and no surprise, Dallas didn't want to sit on Santa's lap
But we did talk him into giving Santa pounds and getting a candy cane

We had to get his pic by the SUU tree
-
In mid-December there was an electrical light Christmas parade down Main Street in Cedar.
I had visions of a Disney-like parade...
yeah, not so much
this was the "electrical" aspect...

Dallas and daddy
Santa on the fire truck was a big hit!
Main street was decorated so cute with the lights strung across the road
-
CHRISTMAS EVE
We went to NINJA for Hibachi and Sushi.
Dallas was a poor, little sicky over Christmas, but he was a good sport and still had fun.
although he wasn't so sure about the chef making big fires
He loves eating with chopsticks!
If he is eating sushi he just stabs it with one chopstick and eats it
then it was home to open pajamas and get ready for Santa to come!
Getting the carrots and cookies ready for the big man and his reindeer
Ta-da!
We read 'The Tale of the Three Trees', 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' and 'The Christmas Story' then went to sleep for a semi-long Winter's nap
-
CHRISTMAS MORNING
Our buddy was so excited about his stocking and gifts from Santa!
Christmas morning he told us Santa came on a rocket-pack rather than with the reindeer :)

He must have been a very good boy this year!

Poor sick little boy :(
He was well enough to indulge in candy from his stocking, however.
He loved his McQueen tent!
We have been trying to find him a simple pop-up tent and everytime we get one it ends up being something that involves poles, etc.
Apparently Santa couldn't find one either...
After a short time of opening presents he climbed up on the couch with his be-be, baba and gooby and just said "I lay down now"

I LOVE my snuggie!
(when I can peel it off of Teag that is)

Mister LOVED his zhu-zhu pets too!

I don't know many 2-year-olds that would be as excited about a new shower curtain and bath rug as this boy was!
Then we had a fabulous post-presents meal of shrimp, artichokes, crab legs and lobster. YUM!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
-
Thanks to everyone for their generosity and wonderful gifts!
We missed our families, but still had a great Holiday :)

Reynolds Christmas 2009

***Disclaimer***
There are a plethora of pictures, most of which may be boring if you aren't a Reynolds
-
Christmas with the Reynolds family this year was a bit out of the norm due to crazy schedules, hospital admittance, etc. However, it was as great as ever and just goes to show that it is who you are surrounded by rather than where you are that truly matters :) It was a jam-packed few days, yet as fun and unforgettable as always!
-
Jay has been in the hospital for over a month now, but he is fighting hard and always amazes us with his positive attitude and big heart despite his difficult circumstances.

More at the hospital later...
-
Dad and Jay
(Dad had his shoulder replaced about a month ago...he is constantly on the go so this has been quite the adjustment for him to have to just relax! But it meant more time for him to hang with the fam over our Christmas celebrations!)

Jay's little wall of cards and pix in his hospital room
The awesome staff at the U made this tree with words of encouragement for Jay after he got out of his most recent surgery. They are so good to him and we are all so grateful for the excellent care he gets!
-
We had the Holt Family Christmas party and Em's baby shower at my Aunt Nancy's house...
always fun to get together with all the cousins!

cousin Kristen with Steph

mom, me and Kim

Jake decided he was going to sport this red bow-tie the whole weekend...and he did, whether it was with a button down, t-shirt, playing basketball, etc.
He is holding up this cutest little sweater that Sister Bowman made for him when he was a baby...the bummer is some losers broke into Scott and Lee's rental car and stole Em's baby shower gifts. Lame.

The Reynolds Girls
The cute parents-to-be
Dallie having fun with Uncle Jake
the guys hanging out
Kim and Steve suprised us all by bringing In-N-Out for dinner one night.
Teag may or may not have eaten about 5 double-doubles...

Dallas LOVES In-N-Out, although he usually only eats the fries and a few bites of the burger patty

the two little's watching Dora
Jer, Scott, Jake and Josh with the O'Neil girls at WillowCreek for the Christmas Brunch

Scott being Scott
My cutest parents :)
Mister likes the idea that Santa brings him presents, but doesn't want much to do with him.
Notice how he is clinging to me.
Mrs. Claus gave him a stuffed animal, and as we were walking away he yelled to Santa that he wanted Cars toys.
some of the kiddos exchanging gifts
-
Due to Jay being in the hospital, some special arrangements were made so we could do our Christmas there. We set everything up in a conference room and Jay was wheeled down to join us for a couple of hours. The nurses were great and came to check on him every now and then. He did pretty well and made it through almost everything!

Kira, Alexa and Isaak
Dallas chatting on his new Cars phone
Jay being wheeled in...he was such a trooper!
He was only 3 days out of surgery and was in pretty rough shape, but we were just happy we were able to all be together!

The room was just a little warm, so Teag had to strip down

The whole group

Eliza helping grandma out with the story
-
We then exchanged the kids gifts...the guys give to the guys and the girls give to the girls
Every year everyone seems to outdo themselves.
It is so fun seeing what everyone comes up with!
Steve put together the most AMAZING Newport DVD!
the guy is so talented and creative!
O'Neil never dissapoints either...he is so creative and comes up with the COOLEST gifts every year...this year was an 'ABC's of the Reynolds Family' book.
So awesome (even if he did forget Emily under E.)

And Jay's dvd was unbelievable...a complete tear-jerker,
but something we will all cherish forever.

Scott and Mom watching Jay's video

Dallas...looking a bit tired by the end of the night

Dal playing around with Jer

Jay and I

Josh, Jay, Steph and Jer

The kid's all walked Jay to the elevator...it was so cute!

My mom does an 'adventure' gift for the guys every year - this year was scuba diving with sharks. They loved it!

We always have a blast doing the white elephant gifts (although now we know not do give something we don't want given to the DI, right Jake?!?!)
This is Lisa in a vest that she, Kim and I all sported at some point in the 80's.
The real question is why was it still at mom's house???
Why was IT not given to the DI???
Very appropriate for Steve

My white elephant was Lauren Conrad's novel.
And yes, I did purchase and read it without the intent of it being a white elephant.

Gram Reynolds got these shorts and hat then made the trade with Jake.
I see him busting these out at some point in the future, Newport 2010 perhaps?!
-
Thanks everybody for another unforgettable Christmas!
We love you all and can't wait to be together again!

Grandma Whiting

Our sweet little Grandma Whiting passed away on December 13th. Grandma was such an amazing, sweet and loving woman. Her funeral was such a loving tribute to her and a great celebration of her life. Grandma LOVED the color pink, so we all wore pink in her honor. She collected dolls and was so excited to show them to us and tell us where each one came from. She also loved the Utah Jazz, and often preferred to watch the games alone because she would get quite upset and yell at Jerry or the players on TV! She also loved her sweet little Shih Tzu Bandi, and corrected me on more than one occasion on the pronunciation... Sheet Su ;)
She went on 6 missions! Teag loved to tease her that he never needed to go on one because she went on enough to cover him. I loved watching she and Teag together...she was tiny, not even 5 feet tall. She didn't hesitiate to put Teag in his place and speak her mind about what he should be doing - I always loved that about her:)
We were so sad about her passing, but couldn't imagine the amazing reunion she had with her sweetheart Lutie after being without him for 33 years. She had an amazing life and we will never forget her example and love.

Thanksgiving

We were so excited to spend the week of Thanksgiving in Park City. My mom was so sweet and took Dallas for the first 3 days so Teag and I could get to know each other again after football season :) We came down for dinner with Teag's family on Thanksgiving, then took Dallie back up with us to hang out for a few more days.

We stayed at the Marriott Mountainside next to the Park City Ski Resort. Even though we didn't ski, it was so much fun being right there!

The first night we had dinner at Baja Cantina then watched our (my) shows and got in the dreamy hot tubs

It was so strange for Teag and I to be able to go out to eat and not worry about what kind of mess Dallie was going to make!

Teag humored me and walked up and down Main Street to check out the cute shops.

Then he humored me again by posing with this bear.

My favorite! They do the best hand treatments and have the dreamiest bath bombs, mountain balm, skin food body cream and fresh homemade face and hair masks.
Mountain Body is similar to one of my FAVORITE places in London...LUSH!

Sushi is our favorite so Flying Sumo was a great choice for dinner the second night!
I don't remember the names of our favorite rolls, but this is my pick for sushi in PC.

We met up with Jared, Adam and Barb for dinner and live music at 'Downstairs' on Main Street

We were missing our little boy so much and were so excited to see him again!
He was so excited for our little getaway and told everyone we saw that we were in Park City.

Thanksgiving night Chad and Meg came up for a sleepover and some fun, then breakfast at Flippin' Flapjacks the next morning.
Dallas LOVES his Uncle Chad and Aunt Meg and always loves hanging out with them.

Cute Dallas...he was so proud of his little beanie and didn't want to take it off all day

We had to hit Rocky Mountain for a white chocolate-oreo caramel apple for mom and chocolate covered marshmallows for Dal.
Teag doesn't eat sweets much, so he missed out!
Dallie and daddy

mister showing off his treat

Our little fam on the ski hill
Dallas was so bummed we weren't going skiing. I think we will take him at some point this winter, but we'll hold out for some better snow.

best buddies

I think Dallas' favorite thing to do was people watch out the windows

still working on that marshmallow...

fun times riding on the luggage cart

We were excited to get back down to SLC to hang with the Reynolds!
Jay & Steph and Kim, Steve & the boys came over to my parents for pizza benders from Italian Village (a Reynolds Favorite - are you dying Lisa and Jake?!) and to watch the BYU-Utah game.

My parents are die-hard Utah fans... Crimson Club, season ticket holders for 40+ years.
Luckily I had Steph rooting for the Mighty Cougars too. We were SO EXCITED the 'Cougarettes' (as my dad likes to call them) pulled out the win! I LOVE this game every year, but mostly when BYU wins :)

DaLLaS

Just a few pics of our cute and fun boy!
He is hilarious these days, saying the funniest things and keeping a smile on our faces at all times :) We love you Dallas!
He brought a balloon and his own football to watch SUU practice
He enjoys wearing my uggs around the house...although, he can't walk so well in them
We couldn't get him to wear a costume on Halloween, but then he was begging to be a tiger on a random weeknight :)
-
Last week he helped me with my 2nd attempt at cupcake pops...
He was such a good little helper and had so much fun!

dipping...

sprinkling...

smiling...

and enjoying!

last home game :(

Last weekend SUU played their last home game! It has been such a fun season going to games, taking Dallas to practice and hanging out with the other coaches families.

It has definitely been a big change for us, but we really have loved it. Teag works some LOOOONG hours, but he loves every minute of it. He is so happy and absolutely loves his job. There is so much to be said for that and it has been worth the sacrifices and changes that we have made. I am so proud of him for all his hard work and success! This is definitely what he should be doing :)

I LOVE the beautiful view of the red mountains in the background!

The team running out of the tunnel...Dallas gets so excited but then reminds everyone around us that "my daddy in the booth".

We were SO excited to have some visitors down for the game! Chad & Meg and Brent & Elaine came down for the game and weekend.
Everyone was bundled to the max because it was FREEZING!!!
It was windy and started snowing so a couple times we'd had enough and went in the football office to watch in warmth
Poor Dallie's nose was so cold and he refused to wear his little gloves for most of the game

Dallas and Mommy

Mister loves getting a hot dog at the game...he usually chucks the bun on the ground
(when he doesn't top it with ketchup and the sour blue powder!)

Aunt Meg is so fun and Dallas loves playing with her!

-

Thanks for coming down guys! We had so much fun and hope you come back to see us soon :)

Summit, NJ

Last week Dallas and I went to Summit to see the O'Neils and Jake and Em.
We had so much fun hanging out, playing with the kids, making yummy treats and going to the Rangers game!
-

view of NYC on our flight in

the Statue of Liberty from the plane window

Dallas was so good on the flight and in the airport!
He was such a helper and had to pull his own suitcase

these two cuties were so excited to see each other!

our first night we went to Jake and Scott's rec league basketball game
It's pretty entertaining when you have former NBA players on the teams!

Dallas loved watching his uncles in action!

Dallas and Lizie being silly and having fun together

cutest little Eliza

these two were so cute and had so much fun together
(when Dallas wasn't tackling Eliza and putting her in headlocks...)

cute sisters Eliza and Alexa

Dallas and Eliza had the time of their life cruising around in Lizie's Barbie jeep!

Dallas attempted driving, but kept crashing, so Eliza mostly took the wheel

Eliza got this little vanity for her birthday and one night while we were all in the kitchen I noticed Dallas was missing...I went into the family room and he was admiring himself in the mirror! I asked him what he was doing and he told me "putting on my makeup, mommy"
uh-oh, don't tell Teag :)

Dallas, Kira and Eliza having ice-cream after their baths

Alexa had sports day at school so she wore her Rangers jersey...she looked so cute!

just playing around :)

Eliza enjoying her lollipop

Soooo.....Lisa and I attempted to make Bakerella's cupcake pops.
They looked nothing like they were supposed to, but they were DELICIOUS!
Jake and Scott actually said they are one of the best things they had ever tasted.

Lisa holding up one of our finished pops next to the picture of what they were supposed to look like...we were DYING laughing SO hard at our pops!
We showed the girls and Alexa said "um, they don't look very good", but once the girls tasted them they were loving them too

Lisa and Kira working on dipping

Don't look too close!!!

the kiddos playing around and being silly

Dallas had a blast wrestling with Uncle Jake

Scott took the kids for a ride around the house on his suitcase...they may have enjoyed this even more than the park!

so funny!

Lex getting in on the fun

Lisa and I took "the babies" to walk around the shops in downtown Summit.
They were so cute wearing their backpacks around!

love them!

Lisa and Lizie coloring together

so sweet

this was Eliza striking a pose for me :)
-
Rangers Game!
I was so excited to experience my first Rangers game!
This was definitely the way to do it...fun gift bags, dinner in Suite 200 before the game and front row seats behind the team. The Rangers lost, but it was such a good game and so much fun.
I am totally a fan!

HAD to get my picture here :)

It was fun to be in NYC...it is funny because for how many times we have been to Summit, we don't ever go into the City!

Jake, Lisa and I in Scottie's office before the game

The Rangers!!!

I was an instant fan watching these guys in action

Henrik the goalie is my new favorite player :)

We even got a fight!
I remember going to Golden Eagle hockey games when I was little and Kim and I would dare each other to yell "fight! fight!"

Jake, Em and I in our fun seats!

after a big goal!

If it wasn't a school night the kids would have come too.
Alexa and Kira sport their jerseys and give the players five when they come in and out of the tunnel...so fun! Keeks has even gotten a stick from one of the players :)

Em and I
She and Jake are expecting in February and were discussing which Rangers jersey their little girl will be wearing at the games next year

The business men busy at work at all times...

and cute Mr. Dallas on our flight home!
He was so good, yet again. He was all set with his pirate's booty and his Cars dvd :)
-
Thanks for a great week O'Neils and Jake and Em!
We can't wait to see you in a few short weeks for Christmas!!!

HaLLoWeeN 2009

It was a perfect day for football! The T-birds played UC Davis and it was a big game for us...
luckily SUU dominated and went into half-time up 42-21.
I tried getting Dallas into his costume for the game, but he wouldn't have it, so we went with his trusty old t-bird shirt instead :)
Dal LOVES getting a hot dog at the game. Usually he goes with ketchup, but being Halloween he decided to try a little something more...sour blue powder. SICK.
However, he seemed to like it because he ate almost the entire thing

He brought a bucket of candy to share with his friends, and didn't mind indulging in a few Nerd Rope's himself. And suckers, and shockers and Reece's and who knows what else.
Whatever, it was Halloween.

Kenna Pupunu was such a cute little cupcake!

Dallas thought Thor was an awesome 'scary guy'

A little MJ tribute for halftime

Dal was fascinated with the 'spooky cheerleaders'

coach daddy doing his thing

Dallas and Mommy

YAY!!! Final score SUU 56 - UC Davis 35!

Dallas and Daddy on the field after the big win

Dallas and Emily Brahman had a blast chasing each other after the game

we have to remind him that girls don't like being tackled so much...

all the kiddos running around wild after the game

Then onto Halloween night...
We had great plans to go trick-or-treating with the Pupunu's, but when it came time to get his costume on Dallas was FREAKING OUT! He had been talking all about being Elmo, so when he didn't want that we tried a few others...lion, batman, incredible, but he didn't want any of them.
He just kept saying he wanted to stay home and play. We didn't want to traumatize him for all his future Halloween's, so we ended up just staying home, eating chili and cornbread, eating candy, watching football and playing cars and football.
-
Here he is "trick-or-treating"...
just putting all the candy from our big bucket into his little elmo bucket

I couldn't even get him to humor me and put on his costume for a picture,
so this is all we got!

-
I'm thinking by next year he will be ready for some serious trick-or-treating :)

carving pumpkins

Dallie has been talking about the "punkin patch" non-stop, unfortunately with snow in Cedar this week it didn't happen. He is now convinced that the pumpkin patch is the spot in front of Smith's with pumpkins stacked on bale's of hay :)
-
Mr. was SO proud of his pumpkin!
He kept saying he was going to have a 'Cars' pumpkin and daddy was going to do it, but we aren't Steve Francis, so we settle on a bat for Dallas. I attempted a skull and cross bones and Teag decided to just go traditional

Dallas was so interested in the whole process...

Daddy and Dallas hard at work

Dallas and his bat pumpkin!

Dallas with our masterpieces

our little fam :)

Now we are getting all geared up for Halloween! Dallas changes his mind every minute on what he is going to be, so we'll see what he feels like tomorrow.....

our mornings...

+

+
+

=
a typical morning
-
Dallas is a VERY picky eater...therefore, we feed him pretty much whatever he will eat.
And for breakfast that is usually a chocolate milk baba
(chocolate Carnation Instant Breakfast with whole milk in his sippy cup),
hot dog, or two
(does the fact that they are 'turkey dogs' make it any better?!?!),
and sometimes an apple.
-
And of course we have to watch 'Cars' while all this is consumed :)
