Dallas was lucky enough to have his grandma reynolds come up to spend his birthday with him! she wanted to do things that he would like so we took him to Cheesecake Factory for lunch (he likes getting his own plate with banana's and brown bread), went to the Disney Store at the mall, and hit a pet store too!
then it was back home for a nap and to wait for daddy so we could have cupcakes!
the kids is OBSESSED with Cheerios so I thought I would throw some on a few of the cupcakes to get his attention...

but he wasn't too interested. he just likes to poke his finger in the frosting and lick it off

dallas LOVES basketball and spent the rest of the night trying to put all his different toys through the hoop

and of course, some quality box time!

Teag brought home a big cardboard box and cut holes in it - this by far beat any toy we gave him for his birthday!

birthday fun!

Saturday Dallas went to his first friend birthday party! Addison and Dallas share the same birthday - April 9th! Dallas, Addison, Patrick and Luciya have all known each other and been playing together since they were 4 months old and met in our Gymboree class. Now we all do Little Gym together and they LOVE seeing each other every week! The other moms are great and we have all become such good friends - so fun!

the party had a whole cupcake theme going - the decorations, favors, cake and everything were AMAZING!
Jessica even did a 'toddler smorgasbord' with mini-muffins, goldfish, graham crackers, applesauce, cheerios and sippy cups with juice. It was so cute!

for some reason Dallas was a little unsure and hesitant with his cupcake. huh?!?!

weekend with the whiting fam

hApPy EaStEr!

we had a great Easter weekend with some of Teag's family in town. Dallas LOVED playing with his cousins, they loved playing with he and the dogs (especially Cooper) and we had good food and a great time hanging out!

I think having 4 of our nieces here reaffirmed for Teag that he is fine having just boys! It was more emotion and high maintenance than he is used to (insert joke about me here!)

the girls had a ball dying eggs
we read the "would you rather" book with the fam. Yeah, the question "would you rather walk in on your parents having sex, or have them walk in on you" could have been a little weird if I had read that one. I opted to skip it.
Olivia and Hailey having SO much fun with Cooper. He is just a big teddy bear!
Dallas checking out his goods from the bunny. He got his first Disney movie '101 dalmations', binkies, sesame guys, books and balls in his Elmo Easter basket.
Growing up I remember one Easter that we couldn't find all the eggs and had to deal with an awful smell for months! Therefore, I filled about 100 plastic eggs with candy and we hid them for the girls to find Easter morning. Dallie checking out a peep...
and enjoying it just like his mommy does!

easter fun with grandma reynolds!

my mom came in town for a day the week prior to Easter to bring Dallas a little easter suprise!
-
We went to lunch (Cheesecake Factory-as usual), then headed to the mall for pix with the Easter Bunny, back to our house so Dallie could open his "easter ball", then my mom sent me for a pedi while she played with the little guy!SO big sitting up at the table with us-eating his brown bread and banana

I thought he was going to be afraid of the Easter Bunny, but he was all smiles :)
onto the Easter ball - it is full of suprises wrapped up in crepe paper. As you unroll it all sorts of fun things fall out! Dallas loved it! We looked forward to them every year growing up.

biggest boy

as of Sunday our sweetest Dallie is 11 months old!
what's new:
- LOVES to empty my purse/diaperbag
- cruising around the coffee table, couch and anything else he can pull himself up on
- he is now in the 'birds' class at Little Gym
- has play dates with his little friends
- going on walks since the weather has been nice
- 'talking' on the phone, especially if its daddy on the other end
- he is such a dream going to bed! after we read and I sing 'snuggle puppy' to him I put him in his crib and he grabs his green cozy in one hand - puppy blanket in the other, rolls onto his stomach with his bottom in the air and closes his eyes
- he is definitely starting to show his independance by grunting and whining when he doesn't get what he wants
- he understands 'no' - although he still tests me to see how serious I am
- he loves to play with the dogs. Well, Cooper at least. Ruby just kind of ignores him
- he also loves to climb up the stairs - I will be doing something in the kitchen and I'll hear a squeal, look over and he is half-way up the stairs!
playing his drum
playing his piano
feeding Cooper
hanging out in his high chair eating Cheerios
enjoying his juice
he thinks he is HILARIOUS when he does this...it is so cute and funny!
playing with Cooper and daddy
trying to get away
he tries to climb EVERYTHING! these are heavy chairs and he has almost pulled them over a few times while trying to climb
-
Dallas is truly our little angel! He is so, so sweet and I LOVE spending every minute with him! We can not believe he will be a year old in less than a month - it has gone by way too fast! There are so many stages I would love to go back to, but I also love experiencing each new one too!

first sweet treat!

Dallas has been sick off and on for the past few months, and right now he is strictly on bottles because he can't really keep anything down. He has been such a good sport through it all, so I thought he deserved a little treat...checking it out...
tasting it...
liking it...
LOVING it...
and this is the look I got when I took it away!
